Hello! On this page, you’ll find some information about the documents required for your university application:
- Passport: (Both pages are necessary for verification and to ensure that the person registering is eligible to study on one of the university’s courses).
- Share Code: Here’s where things get a bit tricky. Why do I say that? If you hold Pre-settled Status, you’ll need documents proving that, during the entire course of your studies, you’ll be working and able to support yourself financially without relying on Student Finance. For this, you’ll need your last three payslips (up to six, in some cases) or a reference from your employer. Please note that some universities may require proof of work experience for the past five years. These requirements can vary from one intake to another, so it’s essential that we discuss your documents beforehand to ensure they meet the university’s requirements. If you hold Settled Status, the situation is much easier—you’ll only need a Share Code. Settled Status holders are considered home students and do not need to provide proof of income.
- CV: Every new student must submit a CV as part of their application. The CV should reflect their work experience, with no unexplained gaps in employment longer than 30 days unless a plausible justification is provided.
- NINO (National Insurance Number): This is required to ensure the student is insured. For Student Finance, it’s also used to verify that the individual is real and to prevent fraud, as well as to check payment records with HMRC.
- Proof of Address: This can be a utility bill, bank statement, or council tax letter, showing the student’s address. Students living more than 1 hour and 30 minutes away from the university must explain why they want to study at that particular institution and how they plan to manage the commute to arrive on time for classes. It’s important to have a well-thought-out plan and present a detailed route via train, bus, or car. Be honest—misleading information is not recommended.
- Personal Statement: This is your letter of intent, where you clearly explain why you wish to enroll at this university and how you believe the course will benefit you.
Make sure to have all these documents ready, and let’s work together to ensure your application is as strong as possible!
